I See You Event

I See You, Women Empowerment Social took place on March 19, 2023 in Springfield, MA.

It was an evening of business bestie love, community, new friendships and business connections. I created this event so women can remember that you have ladies in your corner that are rooting for you and supporting you through the ups and downs.

It was a chance for biz besties to say “I see you”.
I see you doing the hard work.
I see you for your greatness.
I see you making an impact.

In times when you can start to doubt yourself or play it safe, you can call on your biz bestie and your entrepreneur circle to lift you up and encourage you along the way.

I See You took place at the gorgeous local coffee shop, Socialite Coffee Bar. Guests arrived and began with some social time, grabbing a bite of hor devours, and shopping with Kay Hernandez of Pure Life Soaps.

Artist, Lindaluz Carrillo snapped a Polaroid of attendees upon entering. Each woman had an envelope with their name and picture on it. Throughout the event, attendees were encouraged to write notes of praise, gratitude, and encouragement as they met and mingled with one another. By the end, each attendee left with their envelope with several notes to read and keep whenever they needed a boost.

VIP ticket holders received a gel manicure on-site from Sarah Hasset of Mobile Manicures. Not only were they getting pampered but they also received reserved seating, sparkling cider at their table, and a custom-made swag bag full of goodies from local entrepreneurs. The swag bag was designed and hand-silk screen printed by Lindaluz Carrillo of Airis.

The space was filled with familiar faces and new with intentional networking questions to get people talking about every day topics to break the ice. Many attendees raved about the type of women that were in the room. They shared common interests and passions for their businesses.

The guest speakers shared their stories and the importance of your biz bestie community.

Hillary Boutin, CEO of Hillary Lynn Photography shared her story of ups and downs through divorce, raising a family, entrepreneurship, renting her first studio, to buying her studio in Ludlow, MA.

Astariea Diaz, CEO of Starstylze, LLC shared her story of her love for doing hair as a little child, throughout college, and beyond. She discussed her struggles with imposter syndrome, being a stylist down south, to coming back to her hometown to rebuild her business and now has her own studio.

Hillary and Astariea both shared the importance of calling your business friends and your network when entrepreneurship can be challenging. Those are the ones that will lift you up when things don’t always look great.

I shared my journey to entrepreneurship and how I waited three years to get started. I gave ideas on how to find your support network, how to ask for help, and how to see yourself as others see you.

Finally, I shared the winners of the “Chat with an Expert” Raffle. Attendees were able to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to speak with an expert to help grow their business. These consultations were a value of $250 and more to speak with entrepreneurs with experience in e-commerce, owning a storefront, expanding to multiple locations, and making it in the food industry. One of the experts, Talyn Rahman Figueroa, Personal Brand Consultant of Boss Diplomat attended and shared how she can help entrepreneurs make their brand stand out!

Many attendees left with winning a giveaway or two, their envelope of motivation, new connections, and full of gratitude for their support network and biz bestie love. My hope is to continue providing experiences like these that go deeper than the surface-level business topics and get back to growing and uplifting the woman behind the business.
